On the contrary, sociopaths are not emotional or political. They manipulate, while Peterson fights. We might disagree with him, but I'm 100% sure he is an honest human being.

This is so off topic but he's literally a Griting-101 playbook follower. Harks about strength of will, male manliness and clean rooms. Gets addicted to benzos, goes to russia to get himself practically lobotomized and films himself disheveled and crying in a filthy room. He's 100% a grifter.

Copyright was supposed to protect a small inventor or maker for a short period of time. But as those small makers became corporations and they lobbied for and were able to keep increasing the copyright periods from a few years to decades after the death of the individual the actual essence of the reason for copyright is gone. I am of the opinion that copyright apart from a fixed term should also have a form of value…

Johansson is rich. The real value she could get from this would be as an advocate for the rights of creatives, performers and rights holders in the face of AI. Not a lawyer, but as far as I understand; Certainly, the lack of significant damages would usually prevent a lawsuit because there wouldn't be any money in it, but since the amount of damages are figured out during the trial and the lawsuit alone would be damaging to OpenAI the threat of a lawsuit could be enough for OpenAI to try and settle quickly out of court. Though OpenAI would have to weigh that with against encouraging other similar lawsuits - they might think that dragging out the lawsuit might be better for them as they can continue establishing a foothold in AI in the interim even if they know they will lose and know that discovery would be damaging.

As you state, Mrs. Johansson would benefit reputationally form the lawsuit and could act as a front for other powerful institutions who would greatly benefit from the lawsuit.

Altman has proven time and again that he is little more than a huckster wrt technology, and in business he is a stone cold shark. Conman plain and simple.

almost every tech ceo is like that. Could list many examples. It's an effect of capitalism.

Altman wants to be a part of AI regulation in the same way Bankman Fried wanted to be a part of cryptocurrency regulation.

While GPT4-o tried hard to sound like the movie Her, there's no way the voice is a "clone" of SJ. It's only similar. We shouldn't be able to own the rights to similar sounding voices to our own.

Their efforts to copy the Her character mannerisms is still annoying. They were aiming for the Her-like personality. But it's a stretch to say it's a copy of Johansson's voice. The haze in her real voice isn't there in GPT. Maybe they decided to pull the voice because it's not good publicity to have Scarlett Johansson pissed off with you.

Nevertheless these tech companies should hire professional film writers and artists to help with difficult concepts such as original ideas and not copying other's work.
