There are many ways to avoid this. The problem is your co-worker, not cyclists.
If you mean showers, then you can forget it. I have NEVER worked at a place that offered showers. Plus, along with the extra commute time of walking or cycling, a shower adds another ≈ 20 minutes that I am not doing what I prefer ... which is not working.
I don't know what to tell you. Everyone bikes to work here, and we're doing just fine.

This doesn't stop that. And the penalty is too low to stop this. Nor does this target the people running these lights.
I'd prefer to stop it from happening rather than merely fining people.
Further, to my direct point: you can literally respect the flashing lights and stop at buses and still get penalized for this.
So why do you want to punish people for obeying the law?

If they can get the license plate sure. But they rarely can. And they don't, which is why it rarely goes to trial.
I'm curious, do you want to stop this or just let people make money off this scheme? As a parent with kids, I'd think it would be the former, but you are arguing for the latter.

This just isn't true. You got distracted by my mention of Costco and then ran with it.
Do you know how people live in walkable cities without a car? Not unlike people who live a block from H-E-B, except passing by the shop is part of your day. You can pick up of quart of milk and some eggs and avocados for breakfast because it's no big deal to walk to the store and carry a bag.

That's not what the data shows. We subsidize car infrastructure, and less density is worse for commerce, and land that could have been used for more business is eaten alive by surface parking.

#95Yes, this is concerning. But there's also the other side. Some of the little miscreants who shared my bus ride were positively nasty. Some surveillance would have helped a number of people avoid bullying.
How about we don't rely on cameras to keep people from being assholes? That's not a fix to the problem, that just leads to smarter assholes.
What's your plan? The parents don't believe the charges made against their child. At least the video helps the school figure out what happened and convey this accurately to the parents.
