You bring up great points, and hit on the miscalculation and hypocrisy of the left. They seem to think that globalization is a universally good thing, and if you're against it then you are somehow disconnected, a racist, and a monster. This a common symptom not just isolated to globalization.
you seem to be confusing neo-liberalism with "the left".
Which is both incredibly ironic, but kind of distressing to consider this confusion might be widespread.
The left has historically always been about social justice, egalitarianism and opposition to social inequality, while Neoliberalism as far right as it gets.

Not the OP, but I guess an argument against globalisation could be made (and has been made by many) from the perspective of better robustness/resilience of a less centralized/less interconnected system, avoidance of single points of failure, maintaining higher diversity of opinions, etc. etc.

Actually this gave me an interesting thought. The amount of effort required to "share" or "retweet" something is almost zero - it's a click. On the other hand, the effort to summarize something in your own words is more. Not a whole lot more, but enough that many fewer people do it. So I guess the tl;dr here is: maybe the shares that required more effort could be ranked higher.
Maybe a better summary: "retweets are cheap"

#100This guy! I just feel he urgently needs to get punched in the face. Just a few months ago he stood up and told people fake news wasn't a thing. Just go home Mark. You are out of your depth, as is Facebook and it has gone to your head and the kiss asses around you that you know what you are doing. After building a platform for 13 years that takes advantage of all forms of human weakness to optimize for engagement/celebrity worship/consumerism how the fuck is the same platform going to bring people together.
What bought people together to build things like the internet, linux or wikipedia wasn't a like button and engagement metrics. Facebook is a global social experiment that has failed.
