It is in no way comparable to Tesla's Autopilot system. Mercedes has an actual feature while Tesla recklessly gambles with other peoples' lives to juice their stock price. If Tesla believes that their feature is safe, then let them take legal liability for it.

uhh,, this is a thread where the federal gov't just forced Tesla to patch the feature, and so far we don't even know what the patch does...

with roads, you already have a central authority (the DMV) that decides who can drive and who can't. Try taking your home-built motorbike with no licence plate out for a spin on public roads, you'll likely get pulled over by police.
