The funny thing is, In my whole life, this is probably the first time I have used that form, and I wrote it in a completely honest way. I just want to bang my head to the keyboard.

Reading LLM's all day makes me really cynical, and I have to suppress the urge to judge all text written in that sense. SO I get where they are coming from, but people need to consider that they can be wrong, and that there is a real person whose feelings you can hurt by saying "OH this is like LLM, gotem!"

I've been running ads in ChatGPT for about a month now. From an advertiser perspective performance is closer to social media and than to Google Search ads. Organic ChatGPT traffic comes super engaged and spends a ton of times on the website and does convert. Paid ChatGPT traffic is miles apart, quite disengaged. The platform is bare bones, same goes for reporting. Targeting is a bit of a black box and the results seem to reflect that.

I can relate, because I also try to understand whether the text I'm reading is written by a human or emitted by a model constantly, and I don't use any LLMs day to day.

On the other hand, I'm not new in the internet, and have relatively thick skin. I'm very amused today by the unintentional attention I got with my cloudy, morning brain.

"Sufficiently developed" seems like a cheap proof. There are still many non-technological problems above and below it. For example, how do you ensure everyone on the road has a self-driving car? We've sufficiently developed electric cars, but they're not nearly the majority.

Just to further support your point, sufficiently developed electric cars' batteries still doesn't have the energy density of fossil fuels, so they can't replace any and every use case.

For example, can we carry or generate the energy these cars requires to move unimpeded like ICE vehicles yet? Or, did we improve the procedures and materials so these cars can be extinguished faster, more reliably and securely then their previous generation counterparts? Or did battery recycling methods became cheap and efficient enough yet, so we can reuse these batteries and at least not increase mining on our planet? Etc. Etc.

I'm not against renewables or electric cars, but even in their current form, we need to solve many problems to make them more practical and even less impactful when compared to their ICE counterparts.

Plenty of people boycotted (to some extent) the US before that, when it started its trade war(s).

That comment was obviously LLM authored but it is true. Using Kagi really does feel like taking off a huge weight. Or generally any service where you're used to being the product and then you become the customer instead.

Ah, but that’s something different. “Agentic commerce”: using agents to buy things. I suspect there’s a different team working on monetization via affiliate programs, and it’d be early to let people just buy their way into it at CPM/CPC rates.

Honestly they could implement both of these things. Help the user DO an action that requires a purchase (referral link, or pay to be suggested source) and advertise on related searches.

Good for you, but generally engineers do not have the vision. And whether you have your business or not has no bearing on the questions you asked, the scale is monumental over your 7 figure business.
