Socratix (https://socratix-nine.vercel.app) - an AI tutor which constructs a curriculum as a DAG of prerequisite concepts, and unlocks the next concept only after you've proven your knowledge of the former concept by practicing, diagnostic, and now verbal examination through voice by an AI examiner who challenges you to justify yourself vocally.

Recently just shipped that feature which makes it significantly more difficult to fake knowledge when you have to vocally explain your thoughts rather than choose an answer. The rest of the week was spent on some uninteresting things like debugging a bug and moving off from an outdated build tool which incorrectly resolved to a different version of Node.

Not sure if anyone shares my opinion but oral examination as a measure to verify knowledge seems to be underestimated in comparison with quizzes.

I'm engaging in the painful and unfortunate business of organizing a massive collection of related files and source trees*, a third of which are broken messes, because I was too naïve to consider the consequences of a disorganized environment.

* All of which are materials about, or software designed to run on or for the original XBOX. The desktop tools are probably useless to most since they're designed to run on old intel Macs (circa 2009) but I might upload them somewhere eventually.

Like the idea and the website looks good! Did you design by hand or what was your workflow for coming up with a design language, color palette, the sliding banner with headlines, etc?

Can you share more information about your coffee roasting class? TY

It's a few hours long on Sunday mornings, snacks and of course coffee. We start with hot coal and long pot (I decided against the hook and flat pan style mostly for safety as well as the challenge is just too high for a beginner). Then move on to a little science and indoor stove top roasting. We'll roast just a couple different beans so they can taste test and compare the variations of roastings. They go home with a kilo of beans and a life time skill.

I am working on a Django-based JS-free forum[1] that I can self-host. Still need to work on some essential things, but the basic forum functionality is already there.

It's my third year on VPS Price Tracker [1], to my knowledge the largest database of VPSs with current prices and accurate specifications. It has a search form with 25 facets. Its usage has grown steadly each month since its launch, currently has 100-150 sessions per day.

Yaak [1] is a local-first desktop API client (Postman alternative) and I've been building MCP workflows around growth lately.

I already have one for product that takes in a bunch of sources (feedback, PRs, my own tasks, etc) and makes it trivial for an agent to guide me through the day's tasks. Now I'm doing the same thing for growth by taking in web/social triggers, web analytics, and other signals to spin up marketing tasks. We'll see how it goes!
