Since Steve's famous turtle neck was from Issey Miyake and he wanted everyone at Apple to wear an Issey Miyake vest as a uniform [1], I think he might have been into this. This is also the man who launched the iPod sock.

Out of curiosity, what makes you attached to Touch ID? Face ID is one of my favorite things about my SE to mini upgrade.

Speed of unlock and minimal distraction via one motor memory gesture.

I prefer face id because of speed of unlock via 0 motor memory gestures tbh.

I get what you’re saying, to you it feels ridiculous. But the thing is, these are professional designers that have put out a product. The product page shows their professional language and it doesn’t work for all people. But I guarantee you that they thought long and hard on this, and have very good reasons for each and every aspect of the product. It is not half assed work. I don’t see a reason to take it as a joke.

That sounds very much like an appeal to authority...

Professional designers put out the Pontiac Aztec and the Apple puck mouse.

Gore Tex is a good example of a material that, on its own, doesn't actually work as well as the marketing would have you believe. For instance it stops breathing when it gets wet. And then the whole rationale is gone. It means your perspiration condenses on the inside and then you become wet and cold. Most gore-tex jackets will not even work for my bicycle commute since it rains all the time here. Much less riding my bike in the forests or mountains.

Technical garments are not just down to what materials are used, but how the garment is designed to manage moisture and heat, and how you combine it with other garments and reconfigure it as needed.

I spend a lot of time outside in anything from heavy rain to -25C cold. Often in stormy conditions. I often engage in prolonged physical activity, which means I perspirate a lot. Often followed by rests. If you do not dress properly, so you can manage moisture and heat, best case is that your jacket will start to smell like a homeless dog. Worst case, you freeze to death (yes, that happens when tourists don't know how clothes work).

If there is any miracle material it is wool. No synthetic material even comes close. But then again, that's not an outer layer. It's what you wear for the inner and middle layers. And it does that job unreasonably well.

There are thousands of sub 10$ case strap-attachments which make it easy to both use and not drop your phone while wearing it around your neck. Imagine milking your phone out of this every time there is a notification... What a joke

I'm replying to this on a 16 Pro (not Max) and it's a perfectly portable size imo The Maxes are really huge tho

5.3 inch is still much more pocket size than 6.3

I just find it annoying to have larger one in my pocket, 5.3 feels ok or annoys much less.

Even if sometimes I would like to have bit bigger screen - I would rather optimize for comfort while holding phone in pocket’
