Why is it being compared to an M1 rather than M2/M3? I think I can imagine the answer but it's disappointing.

I solved this with a ~$200 driver board from AliExpress. I love the result because it's thinner than any other monitor that I own and I can swap between my MacBook Pro and my desktop machine (running either Windows or Linux). What if (and just hear me out here), the mouse was attached to a cord? This would have several benefits. No need to charge or have a battery. The mouse would stay near the computer and not get lost.
This! It could also have a cool, youthful design, to match the iMacs. Why not round, like a hockey puck.

The citation is common sense.. if your business is consumerism, you are by definition the opposite of "green". Putting some idiots on stage every year to carefully gesticulate to soft music about how "green" creating immense amounts of industrial waste are and thinking it is real is getting high on your own supply.
It's green as long as you give them your previous Apple product and buy a new one to replace it.

I believe it’s a limitation of the memory controller on the M4 chip. It can only address 32 gb of ram. Addressing more ram would require more die space
I hope not. This is a parallel product line instead of a successor then. Not what anyone was anticipating or looking forward to.
Apple's on their fourth generation of in-house processors for Macs. By now, the pattern is quite clear: They have several tiers of processor. Not all products offer all tiers of chip. The iMac and MacBook Air have never been offered with anything other than the base M-whatever chip, and the Mac Studio has only been offered with the Max and Ultra processors.

Are you expected to replace your screen often? I don't think I upgrade and replace either one much faster than the other. Usually get a new monitor and a new PC every 4 or so years.

They are built to last. I'm typing this comment on a 2015 MacBook Pro.

Absolutely do this. I built one and use it connected to a MacBook Pro. Building it was straightforward and 99% plug-and-play.
Very interesting! How much did it cost you?
It was about $250 all said and done. I got lucky and got the iMac for free, though even if I had purchased the Mac it would still be more affordable than Apple's Studio Display.
