Does anyone know what the lower button does?
It brings up a list of contacts that you can customize, to call, message or use the drawing thing with.

#82Am I the only one who thinks the available/previewed watch faces don't match the intended goal of the device? This event was all about fashion, inviting all of the fashion journalists and talking about personalization. Not a single one of those watch faces look appealing, and worst off they do nothing to shake off the "geeky" stigma attached to smart watches. That's exactly why the watch faces aren't fashionable. As with other forms of art, fashion isn't as trivial as many people, including geeks, seem to think it is. I don't believe it's as easy as picking what the default background should be for each OSX release, however I wouldn't be surprised if they were given closely equivalent development times.

#83As much ink was spilled about competitors' failures, it's interesting that this won't be available some until vague window next year, and needs to be tethered to an iPhone. The interface looks interesting. The ridiculous draw pictures to each other bit, though -- what a gimmick.

#84Super disappointed with this. I was hoping for a bunch of sensors that fed my iPhone. Not something to discretely take meetings during a meeting. Here is what is missing for me: 1. Sweat sensor. 2. Insulin sensor. 3. Smarter/more accelerometers to intelligently automatically detect what I'm doing. If they were to offer things like that they would have to go through so much regulation and approval it's probably not worth it right now. It would also cause leaks which they wouldn't want with the first gen.
I highly, highly doubt that s what is holding Apple back. There are tons of on market products for insulin testing and heart rate emergency response calls.
All Apple has to do is announce that it works, and that it will come on a country by country basis as they work with various governmental agencies. It will get green lit by political pressure.

#86As the first step in watch market, Apple is in the right direction. Is this watch the ideal one we expect? Maybe not. Unlike others, they have found a path in design, but the logistics weighs more currently. So they are not able to go far at this moment. And the segment has attracted more and more competitors. It is not difficult to see they are struggling to balance the time to enter and their ability to offer an ideal product now. It's just the beginning.

By Insulin sensor, do you mean a blood glucose monitor?

Really? I thought that looked like one of the neatest things about it. I imagine that people will find all sorts of creative ways to use it for quick communication.
