Which rockets and where?

NATO’s rockets. The U.S. would never stand for Mexico to join the Soviet Union. Of course it’s completely insane to expect Russia to stand for Ukraine joining NATO.

Which ones and where? Type and location, please.

The truth is that NATO has not put any rockets in Eastern Europe, and has dismantled many of those that were in Western Europe.

NATO already bordered Russia. There were already NATO rockets in their back yard. You're falling for Russian propaganda. This is the usual Russian land grab. They've done it many times before and they will continue to do it.

No, you’re repeating neocon propaganda. Everybody outside the U.S. and Europe thinks the U.S. push to expand NATO to Russia’s border was insane.

Still a big bubble considered that the price go up 244% compared to 6 months ago.

Thiel has a man in the White House (Vance) so everyone is hoping he can leverage that.

Given the bad blood between Musk and Thiel, I wouldn't be surprised if DOGE goes straight at PLTR contracts

This isn't the thing the pentagon or any strategic intelligence agency is going to cut longterm. Much though it grieves me, I'd say any contract cuts will be short lived because they want the Intel.

Cutting government isn't to save money, it's to evict ideologically non-aligned people who might impede the Red Hat agenda. Palantir is a force-multiplier that replaces a bureaucracy of people with raw data and AI agents. That's why the stock is up 200% since the election. Palantir is not a casualty of budget cuts, it's possibly the biggest single beneficiary.

this is red hat as in MAGA, correct?

This is bizarre. I'm not repeating any propaganda, I just went and looked at a map. You can do the same.

At least among voters, there’s been a realignment over the last decade along the globalism/nationalism dividing line. The factions that favor globalism seem to also favor American military empire (to keep the trade routes safe or whatever, I don’t know). I don’t trust republicans in Congress to actually do it. But it could be a historic opportunity for democrats to call their bluff and support the cuts. A once in a c…

Russia invading a country that was legitimately starting a new chapter in becoming more democratic is what changed my mind on military budgets. However you want to frame globalism, nationalism, etc. I think it’s a perfectly rational reason to think, “huh, maybe it doesn’t just have to be pork barrel spending and to invade countries with oil…”

>Russia invading a country that was legitimately starting a new chapter in becoming more democratic is what changed my mind on military budgets.

I'm definitely less of a pacifist than I used to be, because of Russia's nonsense, and I know believe in Armed neutrality instead.

But we don't actually need to spend $1 trillion a year to be a sufficient world police. We were absolutely removing Russia's ability to make war for pennies compared to our military spend. Best investment since Alaska.

The US military budget is sized such that we intend to be able to singlehandedly fight off literally the entire rest of the world's expeditionary militaries all at once.

We could cut hundreds of billions off our defense budget and still hold Russia out of sovereign nations, and still keep China out of Taiwan.

But we already did the thing we are doing in Ukraine back during the first gulf war, protecting Kuwait. It may have benefited us that their oil stayed being sold to us, but we were legitimately liberating Kuwait, and it was the right thing to do, and we even had a coalition with boots on the ground. Funny, there weren't a lot of people screaming about a few hundred billion dollars then.

Meanwhile Trump is insisting now that we should pull out of the nordic countries entirely, for some reason.

This shows how naive and unprepared the market and general public in the US is for blatant political corruption. This is a Thiel company. The administration will double down on Palantir because their cofounder and chair helped fund the current administration's election. Just like how they will benefit Musk's companies.

Would still be small potatos compared to Rockwell/Lockheed/etc.

That's just factually wrong. Lockheed's market cap is only $100 billion you know. Thanks to the expected corruption, Palintir's market cap is currently $200 billion.

I do not see how you square that with the tax cuts that are being proposed in the same breath. Some $4.5 trillion in reduced revenue makes the debt problem worse.

It depends on the details. It’s certainly possible that more money in the hands of consumers, entrepreneurs, and investors will lead to growth that will have larger revenue generating effects than the apparent losses. It’s also possible that an initial round of spending reduction and tax reduction will encourage the public to support further changes in the future, including bigger cuts in spending - meaning it doesn’…

Hey look, you still believe in "trickle down"! I thought these guys were extinct!

> to keep the trade routes safe or whatever, I don’t know Americans benefit a lot from being the world superpower, a lot more than they know, in ways that aren't apparent until they're gone. In 10 years it will be obvious what a mistake it was to intentionally renounce this position.

The US dollar as the global reserve currency is an advantage Americans really don't appreciate the magnitude of. The US government is the one nation on Earth that can mint it's own money, and then just pay for things it wants in that same currency directly. There is international trade not involving the US which is executed in US dollars, and country's where it's the de facto real currency compared to the local one.…

Americans on avg aren’t reaping vast majority of the benefits. America isn’t a Social Democracy.
