Yes I think if the walls between Gaza and Israel came down it would be a moment like the taking down of the Berlin wall. Regardless of your outlook on I/P, I don't think either side agrees that they currently do (or particularly want to) share the same government. (That's not to assert my own view. But to compare it to the Berlin Wall seems faulty.)
What people want is one thing. What governments do is the official thing, that's what I refer to
