California had a rough spot a few decades back with a lot of scammy junk-tier "trade schools". This led to the creation of fairly strong regulatory system in the area.

This all happened a long time ago. The judgement from April was not posted on HN at the time, and as a (YC S17) it's relevant to HN. It also appears, from a brief search, that there are active social media conversations elsewhere than HN that have caused attention to be paid to Lambda School this week.

Having shorter weekday hours and longer weekend hours would make it perfect. I was in the process of registering for the March 2019 data science cohort, however I dropped it as I did not want to take someone else's spot. Could not commit to 3 hours a day (on a week day)
