How will this deal with videos that are just b-roll and then AI audio? I end up seeing a lot of those when looking for educational videos for my kids. Basically, if a video was posted after 2023, and the narrator is not visible in the first minute, my radar is up.

It's not clear what these rules are or how they will be applied to videos of this variety.

TBH, I have found a few of them to be quite good, but most of them are junk, and I don't want my kids to become accustomed to that kind of video.

It's time to let people choose their own algorithm and force upon the platforms a marketplace for algorithms.

There needs to be regulation so algorithms are turned off by DEFAULT for every user - with the option to turn on for those that want a dose of brainrot

If an account claims to be a bot, I don't see much downside in assuming it's true?

I'm referring to the tag that Youtube is going to assign automatically.

My elderly uncle is completely addicted to these. We can barely complete a conversation without him getting bored and pulling out his phone to watch these nonsense videos. I don't even understand what the point is. The ones he watches are these clearly procedurally generated stories. It'd be one thing if the content was actually interesting, but ugh.

That video isn't helping your case. That's not to say you can't make effortful novel content using AI, but this is just lazy hollow stimulation. I don't have to convince the lot of you anti-tech "yelling at cloud" engineers.

Social media already shows people love this stuff. It's only the 1% of terminally online whiners that have to project their take on it.

And I've worked with enough artists that kick ass with these tools to know this is the new normal.
