What do you do with a a lot of money past a point? A corporate controlled AGI being just a stop on the way to build another private space agency seems like a...letdown.

Feed the hungry. House the homeless. Give away money unconditionally to those in need. Build hospitals in poor countries. Fight disinformation on crucial topics (such as climate change). Provide disaster relief. Not build more power hungry technology that exacerbates our current problems.

Do literally anything positive for another person, that does not harm others.

The list is pretty big when one isn’t selfish; there’s no law forcing anyone to build space agencies.

A lack of imagination is not an excuse.

Not an accountant but there are different kinds of nonprofits, OpenAI is a 501c3 (religious/charitable/educational) whereas the NFL was a 501c6 (trade association). Obviously we all think of the NFL as a big money organisation, but it basically just organises the fixtures and the referees. The teams make all the money.

If you want to be pedantic, in legal terms, no, the NFL is a big money org ($13B+/yr in revenue, with a commissioner earning $65M/yr). They pay dividends to the teams, however, yes. But all that revenue (which is distinct from team revenue) is actually legally earned by the NFL itself.

65m a year... Wow! Richard Masters, the chief exec of the most watched, most popular sports league in the world is on about 2m a year.

20 yr age gap in a relationship is still frowned upon in our society unfortunately.

Also I guess you were tracking sam's legal age closer than Sam himself because he mentioned that he was a teenager when he met PG in an interview. SV is creepier than anyone could ever imagine.

Elon Musk absolutely has standing, as one of the biggest donors to the nonprofit. I assume he will settle for some ownership in the for-profit, though.

I suppose Open Philanthropy does as well, then.

Right and what's this business about "gave him a 4% stake in stripe"? PG didn't own Stripe.

How did a teenager get 4% stake for 15k and millions for his (failed) startup if PG had nothing to do with it.

I was working at dunkin donuts when i was a teenager.
