Which white collar crime did Brian Thompson commit? As for letting bad things happen, every time the party we don't like wins the election, we let what we personally view as "bad things" happen instead of use violence to overturn the election. That's the whole point of democracy. We show some humility and respect the majority will. We respect the process.

The crime of making people suffering from illnesses go through a hellish process to be able to get treatment for them, or worse outright denying their ability to get treatment. It's a crime the US encourages insurance do, but it's a crime against morals nevertheless. As for letting bad things happen, there is something to do when your side loses the election: wait 4 years. It's a very easy action to take, you know fo…

So, you haven't pointed to any actual crime.

And what is your evidence that he was personally involved in any of these alleged crimes? He's the CEO of a huge bureaucratic entity. He plays his own highly limited, even if high-profile role. He probably doesn't even know what's going on in 99% of the company.

Before going as far as taking his life, you should be able to articulate exactly what he did wrong, how he is culpable, etc, and back your claims with objectively compelling evidence At least try to mimic the judicial process before taking such drastic measures. That even this bare minimum isn't being done by the mobs of people cheering on his cold-blooded murder shows a basic lack of regard for justice and human life.

And no, it doesn't work that way at all. I have problems in my life, stemming from government laws, that I might have to wait 80 years for any government to fix. It's likely everybody does. If everyone resorts to terroristic violence because of such problems, the very foundations of society would fall apart and we'd see mass suffering far greater than anything people experience now.

I would absolutely stop eating a meal if I learned AI was involved in creating it. I suppose I wouldn't literally spit it out but I wouldn't take another bite.

Really? It's just a better way to search for recipes in Mr experience

If they used AI to search for it that's different. I meant if they used AI to generate the recipe.

Why? What if you found out a human was involved in creating it?

First, I would find it disrespectful. But second, I would be concerned that the LLM would tell the human to do something dangerous (like undercooking chicken) and since the human is apparently so desperate and clueless that they're using an LLM they wouldn't know it was a problem.

what stack do you work in, and how are you prompting it?

Ah, the old 'you're using it wrong'. Either it's smart or it's not.

In my experience it IS very smart for 90% of use cases. I'm curious to identify how someone could be using it in a way where that's not the case.

I hated AI tools a year ago and now I use them every day. If someone's opinions of AI were last updated > 6 months ago I don't think they've really given it a shot.

People are coming to a logical conclusions that: - Some if not many jobs are at risk. - AI Psychosis is actively tearing apart families and communities, after social media and opioids have already had a pass. - Negative social outcomes are in the service of _making money_. Not money to pay taxes to fund a healthy society, but money for the people running these systems. Humans that lack community, safety, and purpose…

Jobs were already lost because of AI capital investments. None of the hyper scalers had the cash flow to support the target investment levels and had to reduce labor.

I think you meant to reply this elsewhere? My comment was in response to the apparent social willingness to accept violence towards oligarchical behavior.

Lex's entire net worth was managed by Epstein, both before and after the conviction.

Yeah, I think if we're wondering why having a convicted child sex offender as your tax evasion specialist is bad... well?

Yeah, especially that same offender who was let off easy with 12 unindicted co-conspirators because he "belonged to intelligence" and had deep ties to Mossad.

Yeah, I'd totally let that guy manage my billions after all that.

You mean like this article that has been making the rounds recently? The huge famous one that Altman himself called out in his post talking about the attack? https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2026/04/13/sam-altman-may...

Paywal. Are you just musk fanboys?

I find the best use of chatbots re: software engineering is more of an office hours with the professor than it is a fellow colleague; Use it for specifics. Throwing things over the fence to it often causes a reach into the bag of garbage spaghetti code that is half the internet content.

I've had luck with 'explain this bullshit code i need to update that no-one has touched in two years and none of the committers even works here anymore'. Getting it to actually add the feature, a bit of a crapshoot.
