The term is “scrolljacking” and yes it’s infuriating.

It's always "Has my device freeze up? Oh no, there seem to be some change happening when I try to scroll, maybe if I scroll more it will work again?"

Any sane browser should let users disable it for all pages.

Hi, I'm a huge fan of the Supernote. I bought it over the Remarkable based on the pdf reading/annotating capabilities, but I think this can be much much better (especially in the age of AI). Do you have any videos or content on the pdf reader for Daylight?

Adding an additional comment here for a little extra visibility. I would absolutely love, like really love, a USB-C portrait monitor version of this. If I could just plug this in to my existing laptop and use it for reading specs, technical docs, …etc that would be amazing. Android tablet is a tough sell for my employer due to compliance, security, and such. So buying one of those for work use would take like a year…

Would this not be better solved with some remote desktop protocol (RDP or VNC) than with USB? Then you can use it with wifi and just walk off with the device.

I dunno, it seems to sync your notebooks back up to the cloud & other devices pretty well. It’s £3/month after the first year, but it still syncs. https://remarkable.com/store/connect

Sorry, you're right in terms of their own cloud. I meant the syncing with Google Drive, Dropbox, etc, which is quite limited

Please make a version that has the bezel blend in with the screen. It will make it look much more clean and more modern. The remarkable's thin body and bezels are key to why it is so desirable.

I already have Nova Air C, and a color Bigme tablet. I don't think any of the two was more expensive.

The ePaper response time is tempting. But no color over "back"light temperature or no color support would be a step back.

I fondly remember the best smartwatch I ever had - the Pebble Time, and its 60FPS color display. Can we get a version like this too?

Try to change my mind that I need it.

You mentioned RLCDs does this mean the screen technology is in the same family as transflective screens? I have a OLPC and a Toshiba R500 which have this kind of screen and they sorta kinda do work in sunlight but less so now than the newer super bright iPad screens. I’m curious if you think you have this down if that means there is a road to color in the future.

Came here to ask the same question. The OLPC Screen's "transflective" mode was absolutely amazing when it came out EIGHTEEN years ago in 2006.

I mourn that the tech was never commercialized and that some company is sitting on the patents.

I think it's time to boot the little computer that could, see what the latest distro is for it, and turn it into an E-Reader.

That depends. Back in the day, in my research institute, it was common practice to print out the papers that should be read thoroughly - after skimming them on a Laptop screen.

I read most papers on a secondary 19" monitor that's mounted portrait. Seems to cover all the requirements

It was nice to be able to jot things down in the margins (math, not just notes). Provide yourself the couple steps the author skipped (to show how clever they are).
