What I'm going to write here, will not be taken well by many: If you noticed almost all of YC's new companies are AI-based, maybe Sam was doing something favorable for them w\o disclosing or getting approved by the board.

I worked at a recent YC AI startup (2022-2023 batch). The only favorable thing was a few hundred in OpenAI credits.

Do these people type all lowercase on purpose? Is it a power move/status thing? I'd have to go out of my way to type like that, on mobile or at a workstation.

I use all lowercase on platforms where I share original content because I like the aesthetic of lowercase letters. They look more harmonious to me. I only use uppercase when using acronyms because I think they're recognized quicker by their shape.

Kara Swisher: a “misalignment” of the profit versus nonprofit adherents at the company https://twitter.com/karaswisher/status/1725678074333635028 She also says that there will be many more top employees leaving.

Followup tweet by Kara: Dev day and store were "pushing too fast"!

- Cant be a personal scandal, press release would be worded much more differently - Board is mostly independent and those independent dont have equity - They talk about not being candid - this is legalese for “lying” The only major thing that could warrant something like this is Sam going behind the boards back to make a decision (or make progress on a decision) that is misaligned with the Charter. Thats the only fir…

Prediction: board resignation. Sam Altman returns.

Prediction:

1/ Sam goes on to create NeXTAI and starts wearing mostly turtleneck sweaters and jeans 2/ OpenAI buys NeXTAI 3/ OpenAI board appoints Sam Altman as Interim CEO

This should be higher voted. Seems like an internal power struggle between the more academic types and the commercial minded sides of OpenAI.

I bet Sam goes and founds a company to take on OpenAI…and wins.

a symptom of spending too much time on IRC back in the days, IMHO

I actually have auto-capitalization turned off on my phone

Kara Swisher tweets claiming sources tell her the chief scientist was aligned with another board member against Altman and Brockman about a “move fast and pursue profit” vs “move slow and safely” divide.

Not a power move at all! It's just that people who are this smart, whose brains operate in a higher dimension than you can possibly imagine, won't waste precious mental cycles on silly uppercases just the rest of us commoners.
