You don't have to review your own code if someone more capable is willing to (just communicate that it isn't reviewed; someone can also ask AI to comment on what the code does for review)

Yeah this never happened. This just sounds like an and everyone clapped moments, made to make a blog post. Most people on this planet are reasonable if not pushed.
I envy the type of career you’ve had if you find this sort of behaviour unbelievable.
I don’t know how you ever get the opposite, in been working for 12 years now at 6 different jobs everyone has been fine at the job apart from a cheeky hack here or there.

How does that work? I find the ability to be in these positions as an IC really impossible nowadays. Maybe it was easier in the 90s? I heard contracting was a way better gig back then too, until corpos got all high and mighty about it putting an end to the practice by favoring head shops instead.
Get in early. Know everything. Wide skill set. Arcane stuff.
