My deshittification suite is NextDNS (Pi-hole as a service), 1Blocker (ad blocker, bought pre-subscription model), Rekt (block bags, redirect AMP), and Vinegar (replaces YouTube player). I use UBO on Chrome and find the above experience comparable.

Thank you, never looked at these. The benchmarks show a big margin, but still, I use both daily and do not notice such a gap

Yep, one of the many reasons I won't support the organization. At least capitalist/for-profit organizations are honest about who they are.
Yeah, when I think of "honest" I think of Google...
Granted, that statement by Mozilla left a sour taste in my mouth. I'd like my browser vendor to be content-neutral. I'll decide if something is bad or not for myself.

i haven't seen that at all. Perhaps a refresh, clean install after deleting the hidden app folders in home?
I haven't done a re-install, but deleting the cache folder alone doesn't make it go away. Starting Firefox re-creates the folder obviously, and Defender gets triggered again.

#698Why are Mac users forgetting the hen laying the golden egg aka Safari. It has impressive performance on Mac OS. I just ran browserbench and Chrome and gang do not even come close to the performance. There are enough Mac OS deployed out there to make a dent in the Chrome monopoly.

It's a contradiction to claim Firefox is better at privacy when Mozilla makes most of its money by funneling people to Google's spyware network. Not only is it anti-privacy, the other side effects include things like only blocking "bad" trackers, not including ad-bloc…
