It is worth pointing out that not all parts age equally well. The cushions especially are not that durable and should be considered consumables. Sennheiser provides replacements should you need them. The effect they have on the sound is much bigger than you might think.

Yeah, i got couple of third party replacements recently for my 2 hd380pros.
The leatherette one was useless within 2 years. Outside became slimey / sticky, the inside just shrunk.
The velour one works fine but feels different to original. I just ordered a mesh one to try too.

Possibly it's a paid for ad. But the trend is real, at least among Gen Z/Alphas. I recently modded an iPod Mini 2nd gen for my daughter and put Rockbox on it. The thing is amazing, and I am thinking about buying an iPod classic myself. The touch wheel interface is one of my favourite interfaces ever.
Do the old iPods still hold battery well?

Or ever do anything in parallel with listening. I’ve been working in my garden and went to a shed that’s like 15 meters away from my home only to notice that I’ve forgotten to take my phone with me - music never stopped.
That was solved long ago with invention of pockets .
My favorite way to work in the garden: with a slab in my pocket and a cord around my neck.

That hasn't stopped them from periodic stalinist redesigns in an attempt to purge other ports from their machines. But the audio jack always survives.
I'm guessing there are some key "user journeys" for scientific / industrial customer base, that involve using 3.5mm jack for something other than audio signal, and said customers would probably sooner change hardware suppliers than deal with dongles and all the problems of introducing USB into the signal path.
My guess is MacBooks are just used for pro audio work a lot where latency is unworkable. While few have latency sensitive work on an iPhone.

Sony phones were some of the first high end water resistant phones. They continue to be water resistant and still have the headphone jack and microSD card slot.

Why do you have a lot? I have one pair of AirPods and I don’t think it’s ever gone flat on me. I have to charge it less than once a week and it gives me a long notice period before.
Not the op but for me - Different headphones for different purposes. For convenience and casual on the go listening, or to not annoy anybody, I'll use earbuds or light headphones. For calls, I use airpods but set the mic to my macbook which seems to have an exceptionally good mic as long as there isn't much background noise.

#670Dreadful piece. I have my partner's broken Bluetooth overheads. They need fresh pairing every time, and as they are closed back they are a bit exhausting. The pairing is a pain point. I have a decent open back pair of two, one the head band died (plastic fatigue). I have gotten through so many wired ear buds as I like wearing them in bed and drifting off to music or podcasts. So the wire is an enemy and it often tries to strangle you. Surprisingly you may have a better DAC in your headphones than your laptop or phone accessible over wireless. And conversely one phone I have has a better soundstage than all my computer gear. Different tasks and combos require disperate gear. I am going to buy some more wired buds. One plus about a wire and amp combo is that you can at least crank up the volume. The EU apple USBC to 3.5 is capped at 50 percent.
