Utter insanity. So much cost and complexity, and for what? Startups don’t think about costs or runway anymore, all they care about is “modern infrastructure”. The argument for RDS seems to be “we can’t automate backups”. What on earth?

Also does primary / secondary global clusters with automated failover. Saves a ton of time not to manage that manually

Assuming that was sarcastic, you are free to try, I guess everyone needs to try it once. Just do the exercise of deciding what is really important first, so you can make sure you succeed for that stuff.

Sigh. Sorry. Not sarcastic, I actually really appreciated your comment. Been working in this space 20+ years and you speak truth.
