I feel the biggest advantage about GitHub over other platforms is that many tools that integrate with a software project platform are GitHub first, others later.

Tooling support can be miserable when you had something in BitBucket, GitLab, and non-existent if isn't those top 3.

Well, it was comparing people with monkeys and calling them losers. It was a straightforward personal insult. Writing something online in a blog is like making a public announcement on a market with 100s listening. No one except someone who wants to inflame would use such words in the real world. People just forget that they are speaking in the public. And in that case not only for himself but also for others.

I was more referring to the practice of "self-censoring" and editing what one wrote after publishing.

Of course you are right and it was distasteful but I'm sure they genuinely felt that way when they first wrote it.

Satya Nadella and his off-shore army has made a mess of many things in the last few years.

In a big org and in an acquisition, the best engineers coming from that acquisition will find that they will have more impact elsewhere.

Codeberg doesnt currently support any, but Forgejo, the software it runs on, is implementing support for ActivityPub. Codeberg will likely enable it once support is stable.
