Apple’s head office for all of Europe is located in Cork, Ireland. They are not averse to building offices in places you might not expect. It’s not some “paper HQ” for tax purposes, either - they have over 6000 employees there and are easily the largest private employer in Cork.
It is in Ireland for tax reasons tho... like you understand this is how corporations make concessions with government right? You get favorable terms if you provide jobs/tax revenue? 6,000 employee salaries is a drop in the bucket for a company skirting 10s to 100s of billions in tax revenue.

#64That tells us nothing, nothingburger speculation. However, Apple had that major incident in its history when they made Adobe mad when they went out and shopped for final cut pro, color, and a handful of compositing apps. Didn't turn out well for Apple at the time.
IIRC, at least part of team behind Final Cut was ex-Adobe, which probably didn't help either)

I disagree. It was relevant, succinct, and meant to inspire introspection leading to positive change.
It was unanimously downvoted and attracted community flags, which is why I saw it. Others found a way to respond with substance, whereas your response seemed like snark. I can understand you didn't mean it to be seen as a low-quality comment; few people do. But I'm bringing to your attention the fact that I, and others in the community, read it as the kind of comment that we don’t want to see here.
This is an extremely fair judgment. I should not be surprised but it is nice.
I will turn down the snark a little more in the future. Sometimes it just sneaks in there. Sneaky snark.
