I ended up working with a team to build a headless API e-commerce engine to replace WooCommerce. We launched about a month after they responded. Adding our second client now.
I'd like to say this was a problem but it actually helped ensure we built a scalable reliable solution so thanks I guess.

To be honest, the majority of the CVEs are for 3rd party plugin and themes that no rewriting of core will fix.
They couldn’t be fixed by making the plug-in model more structured and restrictive?
