This has not been my experience, at all.

The overwhelming majority of what people consider “ mental health ” issues simply stop being issues when people fix: Diet Exercise Faith

Diet and exercise are both clinically proven to help mental health. That does not make them complete, however. In clinical trials, medication + diet and exercise worked better than either alone.

Faith isn't really a cure for anything, and many mental health issues are caused by faith, because many religious organizations use fear and shame as tools. Most encourage simply covering up mental health issues or just pretending they don't exist. Both exacerbate, not solve, mental health issues.

That doesn't address the question of whether the concerns are valid. They aren't. You want to save water? Protest golf courses. You want to save energy? Progress in AI is the best way to do that.

Oh they absolutely are valid, though! We've seen them ignore permitting for generators, use incredible amounts of water and raise all our power bills, steal books and movies for training - and for what? Subscription AI isn't going to pay for itself - it's pretty clear that they'll want a bailout in the name of "security"; which is why it's so great the Chinese are releasing models as-good-or-better for free: ironical…
