I'm really getting tired of hearing the excuses from really smart people in tech sticking with Chrome. Yes, you will find a thousand excuses to not switch. Yes, you will find things that are worse (you will also find things that are better). Yes, things are different. Just suck it up and make the switch. You're smart. You'll adapt. We'll all be better for it.
I went away from Firefox a few years ago and am very happy about it.
I also think that the "free web" arguments are bullshit. Blink is open source, so any wrongdoing from Google can be undone.
An organization like Mozilla that is able to develop and maintain his own engine could achieve the same results by forking Blink. It would probably reduce the costs by more than 10, without any ethical compromise, resulting in a far better browser overall.
If they wanted it, they could lead the way to bridge projects like ungoogled-chromium or the various attempts at reviving android extensions in a consistent and ethical fork. Probably even convince others like Vivaldi, Edge, Opera or even Apple to join the initiative.

Firefox out of the box indeed does not cause broken websites. However, the demographic of this forum probably will use Firefox with "Multi-Account Containers", "Temporary Containers", "uBlock Origin", and a few more. Occasionally, sites are obstinate and I need to use Normie mode (e.g. for Maps)
Normie mode just has uBlock O, containers. I really have zero problems with sites breaking here.
