macOS has the prior keycombo for 'home' and 'end' occupied for other uses. command + up/down arrow I don't know how to read to the bottom of a webpage and jump immediately to the top of page. Plus, the global key at bottom left fails for keyboard shortcut input when defining new binding for managing windowing rearrangement.

Command+up arrow and down arrow behave exactly as you say on my computer: like home and end do on PC/Linux. Command left and right for how it also behaves on Linux/PC if you're in a text field. They always have? I use that combo all the time and only have issues in Safari tabs that overload the arrow keys with bullshit.

Just anecdotally, increasing the blur seems to have an associated performance cost, especially in Springboard ("the home screen".) It's probably only ~100ms for each interaction, so it probably won't impact latency-insensitive users. As others have said, it helps with the legibility but Liquid Glass is still distracting and illegible. I share the wish that Apple eventually returns to a more sensible, legible UI.

A common one I hit is "blu" showing bluetooth settings, but "blue" does not. Very frustrating to see the thing you are hoping for popup, but then go away as you type more if its name.

Not just operating systems. Try the following on the IMDB app or website.

Search 'True', you'll get True Detective and True Blood show up as the top results. That seems to work well.

But then if you add a space making it 'True ', 'Bill Hader' is the top result!

That’s not correct. It reaches back to the 12. They might be referring to the Apple Intelligence features in particular.

Even further back. iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 (released 7 years ago, btw).

I tried to use the built-in foundation models to draw pelicans riding bicycles, but what I got out was SVG of roadkill. That is realistic in a different sense.

Yes, I should have been clear - I don't mind AI working on patches or vuln-hunting; my issue with MacOS 27 is the amount of AI included in the OS that is not opt-in. I use Claude Code everyday - but it doesn't run locally on my main production machines.
