Perhaps by minding your own business and focusing on the work? Nobody is forcing you to view that person's blog or to even know it exists. If that individual's viewpoints somehow visibly leak into their work or professional communications, then you might have a case for complaint or concern.

You are just denying people their freedom of association. I personally wouldn't want to associate with a racist for the simple fact that he is a racist, no matter where they display their racism.

I really wish your comment also had some capitalization and punctuation so it was easier to parse. Even ChatGPT had different interpretations.

But PT (sorry, I guess it’s stylized, pt) has written like this for years, long before the recent LLM-based AI revolution (maybe given his position in the tech community he had much earlier insight into what the machines want). It has been one of the reasons his messages always seem aggressive, IMO.

It sounds like the allegations are for things that was be illegal in nature. I think the expected way to handle something like this would be to write the calm factual email. If that goes nowhere then sue them. I don't think the public airing approach is the right one.

It’s difficult to prosecute online harassment, and “hate sites and photoshopped images” aren’t illegal. There’s a right to freedom of speech in the US.

Over the years it’s kind of becoming clear that “running major businesses” is kind of orthogonal to “having emotional integrity”. In larger businesses it’s mediated by layers. But just take a look at some of the deranged tweetstorms we’ve become used to in recent times.

Olimex are a better middle ground than sparkfun or adafruit for the things they cover. In truth people will spend a lot of money paying other people to shop on Aliexpress for them so they can maintain the illusion they are above all that.

Personally, I've had absolutely miserable experiences trying to get products on Aliexpress. I have at least 3 paid for orders that literally just never showed up (18650 charger, and two LFP 24v chargers). It's not a huge sum of money (~$45) but it's just... gone. Poof - into the ether. But seriously, this illustrates to me that Codes of Conduct are mostly suspect. This is obviously a private feud (nobody looks to be in the right here and I don't care who started what), so to pull "they violated the CoC" is pure theatre and bullshit. I'm a Sparkfun customer and I find that really disappointing.
