One of my very best friends lives in another country. We speak nearly every day, but I haven't seen them in person in over a year.

Another of my friends lives on the other side of the USA. We speak a few times a week, but I haven't seen them in person in about four years now. And that was only because their mom lived nearby. His mom moved, so it's unlikely we'll see each other except once a decade when we do our friends trip to Vegas.

I have other very close friends who I almost never see in person.

My point being, having to tap phones is cool and all but not a great measure of the strength of friendship.

Could it be you are pushing your native app? Maybe for more control to advertising in your app, tracking, etc. Keep those nasty ad blockers out.

That’s empirically wrong. All statistics say that people do install apps way more than PWA

Do you install a hacker news app?

Speculators provide time-allocation of resources. They're pretty critical part of market dynamics to help resources get sold and developed when they are valued most. That is, they prevent domains from being captured prematurely for lower value use. Society profits immensely from their contribution.

Hey I get it, we all gotta sleep at night. Tell yourself whatever you like to get them zzz's. As far as ticket scalpers and domain resellers go, my assessment stands: they are bottom feeding zeros providing nothing of value and they can fuck off into the sun.

Agreed. You can search apps by their exact name, identifier, anything, and App Store will not find them for day+.

Bookmarking this for the next time somebody claims Apple makes great software.

FWIW I’ve never heard that claim.

People like iPhones and MacBooks, not Pages or Numbers.
