Art is interesting because it’s fundamentally human and challenges you. Slop is incapable of doing that.
Art is interesting and challenges you because you choose to have that reaction to it. Part of the reason for making that choice comes from what you believe about the origin of the art.

That's fine until, for example and by analogy, you go to the store to buy beer, and you don't particularly care for IPA, but IPAs have crowded out half the beers that used to be there including the one you used to sit back and enjoy.
How does the analogy work with music though? Are you saying that because there is now over-produced pop there is now less rock, jazz or whatever you prefer? If so, is that actually true and verifiable by numbers?

This platform sees high front page placement / hundreds of votes for AI-written … uh sorry I mean “I used the AI to clean up my notes” … content daily. I have an allergic reaction to it and flag, but clearly a majority of the hn voting population appreciates it, so if it isn’t banned it will continue.
If I wanted to publish my writing, people would focus on that, and not the content of the writing. If I run it through Kimi K2, people will focus on my ideas.
