I see a 'showdead' option, but nothing about showing deleted comments.
That's the option. But i just turned it on and the comment still shows up as [deleted].

Seriously, it's a huge accomplishment, and they deserve to be proud of it. When the president uses your product (even if it's not good) you know you've made it.

Maybe they'll blame you for all their troubles publicly to their 40 million followers .... How many times do you think the president needs to say "Sorry about the technical difficulties, the company we were using was having some troubles" before it hurts them?
They just publicly, cleanly, and professionally blamed themselves.

I still mostly don't know what happened when Obama used Mixlr. Yup. Huge opportunity missed - they should have hired a real writer to tell the story, instead of "this happened, then this happened, then ..."
No, that seems to be the ideal form for expressing information.
A "real writer" would have said the same thing but taken 5000 words to say it. It would be more fun to read, sure, but would take much longer to get the gist, and half of it would probably be made up to sound good.

I know there is a link in the content of the post, but what about other posts? Why is there not an easy way for me to get to your main site without manually modifying the URL in the address bar?

#60If I were their VP of Engineering, the questions jmilloy asked would be top of mind for a post mortem. I'd also raise the issue of whether the $9.99 all-you-can-eat plan should have a specific limit in terms of absolute number of live connections. From their pricing page, it looks like OFA could have just used the Basic (free) plan. Even still, they will never recoup their costs from this one call even if OFA remains…
You seem to be under the impression that every single customer needs to generate more money via their subscription than they cost in service. That's absolutely not true. You just need enough customers that pay more than they cost such that it covers the costs on the customers that don't. And don't forget that providing an excellent deal to high-usage customers is a great way to encourage them to refer your service to people they know.
