In a properly functioning market, new supply would be built when there is new demand. Perhaps they should try to figure out why that isn't happening.
Pretty much the whole developed world is suffering excessive housing prices. Whoever has the money to develop housing is in a position to exploit the scarcity as well.

11/330 is about 3% of the US population. No way 3% of the people are causing 30% of the price rise. Beyond that, if the number has stayed constant for decades, the market has had time to incorporate them. I stand by 30% being, if not a lie, thoroughly suspicious.
The point of GP is that the number of illegal immigrants has in fact dramatically increased over that decades-long period, and the people continuing to claim 11 million are at best grossly uninformed.

The entire point is that OP is complaining about repeatedly hearing a falsehood. Hence:

There are far more than 11 million illegal immigrants in the US. When you take into account that as an objective matter of fact we are talking about far more than 3% of the population, your argument "no way 3% of the people are causing 30% of the price rise" becomes moot.
