What is unsafe about writing some code? I don't get this.. also this is like an anime character...wha..?

The code is safe because it's Rust (I'll be here all week) but the death threats are the unsafe part.

What's with those comments? Wow. Edit: Upon further inspection... almost every phoronix comment thread seems to be this toxic.

I can’t even view the comments without signing in. Probably a good thing.

Did they disable the comment thread visibility for anon/not-logged-in users? I hope they deleted the comments instead of only hiding them from the public eye.

It looks as though they specifically disabled the comments for this article (or moved the thread to an subforum which isn't visible to the public). https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/phoronix/latest-phoron...

Notably, even if Phoronix disabled the comments, they have not administered any consequences to the main offender

What harassment? The kind Hector tried to organize on Mastodon against the Linux kernel developers?

We haven't seen what DMs he was getting. It's true that he was escalating the drama but some threats are never acceptable.

Unless he provides proof of DMs, we can discard his claims outright. Nothing "unsafe" occurred on the LKML. Having a thread about you on a gossip website isn't a threat to your safety.
