While Jira isn't amazing, its been a useful addition where I work. I just wish it wasn't so slow, and it could integrate better with some kind of scheduling software to flag obvious shortfalls.

Discord is more in line with TeamSpeak and Mumble; being that it's targeting gamers.

I'm looking forward to Matrix eating all of their lunches. There absolutely no reason to have competing standards in this space. A horrible duplication of effort.

I wish people used IRC instead of all of these proprietary tools. I don't love the Slack client, xchat is much better.
Agreed, there is little that Slack gives me IRC doesn't, a good client and I'm set.

Have you noticed Slack slow down/use too many resources as a result of being an Electron app? Honest question, I've never used Slack, but have used other Electron apps and never really have any issues.
I'm on a new computer and Slack takes at least a second to react to mouseclicks. It's completely ridiculous since, let's be honest here, Slack is a pretty basic chat app.
