The enforcement is capricious. I can't tell you how many conversations I've been involved in where there was discussion of, "yeah, but what are the chances this makes it through the AppStore?" and the answer is almost never 0% or 100%.

Almost all apps are not in his category.

That's kind of my point. There's a lot of apps that never get built because no one can justify taking the risk.

Multiple app stores are no less secure than singular app stores everything else being the same. Plenty of people aren't okay with Apple's actions but there aren't exactly great alternatives. Nothing is stopping Apple from allowing other stores other than control and in app purchase profits.

Who says Apple has to vet anything.

The user purchased a device which per the law in most countries gives them the right to use it as they like.
