10Gbps is 12 times slower than the maximum bw of TB5. You could argue most people wont need that speed, but most people don't need pro phone too.

Yes, and TB5 also uses around 10x as much power, around 4W rather than 0.4W for USB3, which would consume the majority of the sustained power budget of the entire phone.

I would like to see dual Thunderbolt ports on the iPad Pro. I wonder if Thunderbolt chips would even fit in a phone.

The only thing that’s interesting to me about this release are the “Reference Images”. Seems like it could be a genuinely useful feature, especially in a world of AI generated content. I wonder if a similar system exists in other cameras?

I'm still on a 12 pro. Was considering the 17 a couple months back, decided to wait for the 18 and now I'm in the same boat as you. The 18 just doesn't really seem worth the huge difference...

I bought a 12 Pro Max around the time the 13s came out, still at 92% max battery capacity, and still feels very snappy. Every year I wonder if the new models are going to entice me to upgrade, and every year I find myself saying meh.

Nothing. I’m going to run my 13 Pro Max into the ground. I do find the “Reference images” interesting, but not so much in going to run out and buy one. Other than than it’s the same old “everything is better” marketing shtick

The MacBook Neo runs an A18 Pro phone chip. It's appears to be all there and somewhat ready to give us something like DeX [1]. [1] https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/samsung-dex

yes, and the fact that it runs a phone chip is the reason why it only has one 10Gbps USB-C port and the other only supports USB 2.0 speeds...

It was 969€. It's 1099€ now.

FNAC/Darty/Boulanger still sell it for 969. Maybe I should pull the trigger soon.
