In my business (partly home studio support), it's hard to support MacOS for new-ish users. If the OS is old, things like FFMPEG will not work with things like Audacity. The grandparent was also wryly highlighting the crevasse between post-Nadella Microsoft's PR, which you seem to believe, and their actions.
