It seems there are different "privacies". My privacy concern is about BigTech syphoning data from the users, not targeted CIA attacks.
As for lazy/... app developers, as a user I do what I can to protect myself from their decisions. NetGuard helps there.

Fair enough, although barring VPN use is quite a bit different from forcing an app that requires Play Services or iPhone. A VPN isn't as legitimate a need to pay a utility bill in the same way paying without an Android or iOS phone can be.

Nah, not really. Using a VPN is a luxury, a preference. You're arguing that using a VPN should be a right in a discussion about people not being forced to use specific Apple or Google services, which is an entirely different thing.

I don't have a Google account. No idea what you're on about, tbh.
I used to not use one either, and used Aurora Store for certain apps. But at some point, my bank's app stopped working if I installed it from Aurora Store, and would only work from the play store. Since then I've seen a lot more apps that work this way.

Well, banks will do bank things. Still not a general Android issue, righ? Though I wish the attestation would just check if the bootloader is locked and if there's no root. Then there wouldn't be an issue with ChatGTP, banking apps, some stupid airline apps that don't work on GrapheneOS.
