How can government know how much you owe them when they don't know all your tax deductibles?

We could also ask how the government could later tell someone they improperly deducted something! The government can either use that same means to tell taxpayers in advance, or else we could figure out a superior taxation system that wouldn’t require these steps.

I'd reckon 9/10 instances of "distracted driving" deaths involve texting/looking at the phone. Maybe this could reduce those numbers by 90%.

Is it so hard to put the phone down for the minutes you are driving during? Is it that addicting?

Why is it so imperative to use your phone while behind the wheel? Might it be better to use this time to break the addiction?

I am absolutely saying that your claim that conversing is nearly as dangerous as looking at your phone, is total nonsense. And your link doesn't do anything to support your claim.

Whoever wrote this just doesn't understand who apple's main customers really are. Yes, devs may be a high impact customer base but most of apple's customers are people like my mom who struggles with the difference between Gmail the app, Gmail the web page and Gmail in apple mail and is reasonably worried about scams and viruses because she knows she isn't really tech savvy enough to spot them. If she is going to run AI on her apple products it can't be 'well it probably won't delete your data.'. It needs to be something she can be sure is safe and is limited to the access she gives it.

That's a really tough problem. I'm not even sure yet google can pull it off.

Tax filing is trivial in most countries with a functioning government, it’s only a Big Deal in the US due to Intuit bribing the government.

Even in the US, for most people tax filing it not really a complex process. It only gets complicated if you are trying to itemize deductions and have a complex income story. Most people can do it with a couple of documents and a single form.

It doesn't take a lot of 'complexity' in income to balloon up complexity. Any brokerage activity will generate quite a few additional forms for 1099-B, 1099-DIV, etc. Still not super complicated, but I keep seeing people discuss this as if you only have W2s and nothing else... which isn't usually true, especially for someone who is likely to be using OpenClaw.
