oh i didnt actually mean for you to take actions, taglines are hard, startups need to claim ambitious comparisons, all analogies fail etc etc, love you dang

its just we are currently confronted by a deluge of startups of "cursor for x" bc of obvious reasons and its an open question whether to lean into it or stand out by not

Nice to know about Recall! Right now we handle all of our recordings internally, since having a bot join our calls is a dealbreaker, but it is something that i'm going to take a closer look at. Your product is very interesting for our problem domain, but having a bot join our calls is a big no. IMHO if you're going to shill your wares on someone else's Launch HN you could at least say why anyone would prefer you. Saying "me, too" is worse than nothing because you're rolling the dice on being rude but also not trying to inform anyone in exchange for the risk

Hey, totally accept the criticism - thank you! Unlike Nomi, in Closer we focus mostly on admin work - the work even the greatest salespeople dread the most. The tool is sort of a Cursor meets Shortwave/Superhuman meets Notion but fully connected to all your org data. Congrats to the team for launching!

I can understand if there are legal reasons to inform, or if there is concern about the call data leaving local.

However, if the model was run locally, I do not think a product like this should need to notify that it is running.

There is nuance around whether an actual recording of the call would be stored. For example, keeping a copy without notifying the other party creates an unexpected risk if there was a data leak.

But otherwise this kind of behavior will become no different from a noise reduction filter passing over the audio channel.

It is simply augmented reality intended to assist in humans relating to one another.

That doesn't sound completely forthcoming. It's doing more than taking notes.

Would be super insightful to get the "more" discussed to avoid any strange feeling. We currently have the following; "Nomi.so is recording the call and assisting [Name] representative"

If I am in a call with someone using Nomi, can I send a message in the call or wherever to disable it, or will I have to ask the person using it to turn it off?
