We haven't seen what DMs he was getting. It's true that he was escalating the drama but some threats are never acceptable.

Paying money that seemingly goes entirely to supporting a comments section dominated by trolls seems like a bad idea to me. YMMV I guess.

I do not get it. Money pays the creator of the website. That he does not have resources nor the desire to moderate the comments is a small detail.

I find nothing offensive in the comments I do not read, BTW.

Typical phoronix-style inflammatory blogspam. If this is what it takes to keep a Linux news site afloat, we're better off without any. Also, as always, the article is below HN's level...

I always thought there was too many linux sites compared to the amount of linux users anyway.
