Oh no, what will all of the lazy babies do now to be dazzled by nonsense?

chatGPT is an amazing tool. It has really increased the speed of my coding. Why do you hate it?

Now it's an amazing tool, but one day it will be amazing at taking your job completely.

good opportunity to try the free and totally open source Big Science Petals chat: https://chat.petals.dev/ ... Try out Stable Beluga 2 70B

I am currently running my 3090 GPU on there to help out, you can check out https://health.petals.dev/

If you have a spare GPU, consider contributing: https://github.com/bigscience-workshop/petals . I am not associated with them.

I really despise this trend of companies not acknowledging their product or service is down, but instead simply say their service is 'degraded'. On top of that, they will use language like 'some users'. Be open about it: your service is stone cold down and no one can use it. Cut out the stupid business speak.

Hey, it's not down unless it's down for everyone. There is this one guy it is still working for, so it is "degraded" not down.

I hope for that outcome… in the meantime, back to my boring day job. I’d rather be surfing

Is this the new "Google is down"? In terms of impact on desk worker productivity?

as an aside, bard hasn't gone down

In my (limited) experience with Bard it is not at all comparable to GPT4. I'd say it's a little worse than GPT3.5 even.

Just use the playground when it goes down. You are paying $20/mo and they are scaling like crazy, let's not be ridiculous

Then it wouldn't be a big deal to ask for part of that $20 back when the service is unavailable.

For a downtime of 2 hours they would owe you around 0.05$ (20x2/(24x31)). Perhaps they can give you a 1000 token GPT4 budget?
