I unkilled that comment.

Why?! All of lightedman's comments here are terrible, and they're just threatening to dox you here like some angsty edgelord, which is absolutely not acceptable. It deserves to be flagged, as does my response, to be honest. I shouldn't have fallen for the bait. But still, anyone else would likely lose their vouching privileges for that.

Yes, but when people see comments like that which are dead, they often accuse us of having censored them for personal or business reasons. Some people make that accusation with such force that a few readers might believe it, even though it's false. I'd rather preempt the issue by doing the opposite proactively. Also, I suspect it's helpful for regular users to occasionally see the sort of of assault that gets directed at us for trying to keep the peace here.

Edit: oh and there's another reason. It sometimes seems to happen that a user like this is surprised to see that we've treated them more kindly than they expected, and they reform their ways and become good contributors. I'm not saying it happens often, but it's worth giving it a shot.

Ok - aside from lets agree to disagree, im not equating the content are the same. I am equating the manner pf discourse and conversation flow. Its rather disingenuous of you to think people are claiming racism violence and child pornography here. Besides, 4channel is now heavily modded to be sfw since it has been acquired from moot and the owner is trying to drive ad revenue. It isnt 2008 - and please again, stop pas…

>Its rather disingenuous of you to think people are claiming racism violence and child pornography here krapp did that in this thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19655230 . You might need to turn showdead on in your profile to see it.

Ah - yea that's just plain silly right there. And frustrating bc it throws the meta discussion out the window

No, all of my comments regarding HN are terrible - to you.

Sadly, they echo many others. And they, too, have reason.

Pure fact: Shadowbanning is 100% cowardice. It is lazy. It requires zero effort. And all that does is further reinforce our view that the moderation staff is bull-headed, piggish, and outright stupid.

The rest of my comments, in technical threads, are fucking spot-on when it comes to my topics. But those don't get seen, as well as all the other help I've tried to provide by answering questions that people ask here - IN SPITE OF the moderators hiding useful comments AND ONLY UNKILLING THE BAD ONES.
