It's not prohibited by law. Canadian law has no jurisdiction in other countries. Also, if titular honors are prohibited by foreign governments why do we have a Queen?

Canadians are (like Americans, although for different reasons) prohibited from accepting foreign titles. That's pretty much "against the law" to me.
