Say this figure is true. That is because so little food was allowed in. If food was abundant criminal gangs would not profit out of intercepting and hording it. However this 90% estimate is cherry picked. It is one report at one time, during a time when Israel was intentionally starving Palestinians during a genocide.
> If food was abundant criminal gangs would not profit out of intercepting and hording it. They could just intercept it and hoard it thus driving the price up or as a tool to recruit others into their criminal organizations.

I don‘t think you know what you are talking about. Or worse, you are so invested in creating an apologia for genocide that you come up with these excuses which have been shown to be false.
Or maybe you can tone down the rhetoric yea?

Accusations of genocide were made before Israel’s response to Oct 7 even began, with many claiming the genocide has been going on for 80 years — the only genocide in history where the population being genocided grew exponentially during their genocide.
Even Gaza has had population growth over the past 3 years, despite the war (reported births > reported killed).

That was an awful lot simpler, int aht we (or rather governments) just had to lean on a small number of manufacturers and tell them to find alternatives for CFCs in their products. Nobody was up in arms saying 'my hairspray isn't the same without CFCs' or whatever. I'll bet the majority of consumers never even noticed the difference.
> Nobody was up in arms saying 'my hairspray isn't the same without CFCs' or whatever. Oh, boy. There was a huge number of loud people complaining about that. And worst thing is that most of them only knew about the CFCs being replaced years after it stopped being in sprays.

Let’s not pretend there isn’t a concerted effort to push a narrative about genocide regardless of facts and regardless of Israel’s actions. Accusations of genocide were made before Israel’s response to Oct 7 even began, with many claiming the genocide has been going on for 80 years — the only genocide in history where the population being genocided grew exponentially during their genocide. I probably should engage with these claims as they are written, but I don’t think anything here is in good faith. I am clearly engaging with somebody who is full of hate, so much so they deny (or even support) a genocide.

No, every one participates. Ordinary people the most, because the capitalist first and foremost need to provide value to us. I'm not sure what do you mean by rivers, glaciers or others not participating in the market? Isn't it evident people assign great value to natural resources. The world is a bit older then 120 years in your graph. There were a lot of natural disasters that wiped quite a lot of living beings from…
> No, every one participates. Ordinary people the most That is just straight up not true. The tribal elder in the Amazon, who's forest capitalists are burning down never got asked how he defines value. The child not yet born was never asked if it's atmosphere should be heated up for data centers. Neither was the fish in the river or the river itself for that matter. > what do you mean by rivers, glaciers or others no…

You brought the failed state of Yugoslavia as model. I don't have a clue why though. Its economic model certainly doesn't solve any of the existing problems and it would exacerbate them. The forest will burn and rivers will run dry as long as this planet will exist. You are acting as if this is not a naturally occurring phenomena.
It isn't. And surely, you know that as well. Then why this farce? Ideological commitment?

Creating a throwaway account to espouse an extremely hateful and genocidal rhetoric is honestly a very weird behavior to do on a tech forum. And then you had AI write this short comment for you is even weirder. I probably should engage with these claims as they are written, but I don’t think anything here is in good faith. I am clearly engaging with somebody who is full of hate, so much so they deny (or even support)…
Also, you are arguing with bad faith assumptions regarding my views on actual genocide.
As a descendant of survivors of a real one, I’m not about to give you and your ilk my identity. You seem to think that this is something to gloat about. Good on you for feeling that your side has nothing to be afraid of — not everyone is that fortunate.

Arguing that the IPCC report is "downplaying the impact" because of corruption -- which is what you seem to be doing, without evidence -- is an implausible assertion. The far more likely conclusion is that you're wrong.
They are not saying what the cause of the "downplay" is. It might be as simple as when scientists speaks publicly and present a consensus, they will stay on the safe side and give conservative estimates.

#390People really don’t appreciate yet. How really bad this situation is and will be. They’re talking about 1.76°C higher temperatures next year because of this El Niño. Those are climate change temperatures that are not supposed to be around until 2035. So it’ll give us a sneak peek into our future. But the biggest effect and this is noted by many insurance companies now is going to be in places like India. But this is…
