That shouldn't be taxpayers. That should come from the malpractice insurance, similarly how doctors pay. After a while, when premiums shoot up, they'd start to behave

NYC has, over the last decade or so, averaged $1M/week in judgments against NYPD for abuses of authority.

You started some “oh only in America” crap and promptly started acting all noble once it was pointed out as bullshittery? Nice try.

If the results were swapped and this had said “13 dead after being misidentified” vs “1 jailed for 5 months in post office scandal” I’m supposed to believe you’d be all “well, at least they’re doing something about the 13 dead”?

I think we both know you’re just talking a load of crap. Admit you were wrong to downplay a large tragedy and move on.

Oh dear, no need for a hissy fit. My initial comment stands. I've tried to be reasonable but since you insist, let's see... School shootings are a regular pretty much unique American phenomenon, what else oh yeah the 2008 banking crisis, there's also the unique way American healthcare works. Together all of those far outweighs the post office scandal in terms of lives lost and scale. So yeah, only in America.

Now to you nonsense that I somehow downplayed the post office scandal by pointing out your attempt to compare apples to oranges (aka false equivalence, as in youre engaging in a logical fallacy); utter ridiculous nonsense, not even a good attempt at straw man.
