I don't use sublime on my day to day, but I'm always happy to purchase their new licese when a new version ships for this reason.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the layout? I really liked Sublime 3, I use it on a daily basis but something doesn't look right on this Sublime 4 :( idk

Do you expect that working with Python codebases will get better with this release? I mean it in the context of code completion and other "intelligence" features.

Code completions have massively improved for every language with syntax highlighting.

That's very good news. That was my only pain point with ST3.

Yeah, notepad++. I also tried it. The price was better (free), but it lacked column mode, "reformat paragraph" (it basically takes separate lines and makes it into a paragraph), and trim trailing spaces, at least when I tested it, which I used a lot.

Perfect timing. I just ended a months long voyage of VIM and headed back to ST, new version? Bonus!

I also tried VS Code (again) and it still isn’t as snappy as ST. I don’t get the hype.

I tried Sublime text and I really like it. But I have been a user of UltraEdit for many many years (maybe 20?) and I still find it much more natural to use. I found it while looking for an editor to replace Semware's Qedit (DOS). I wonder why UltraEdit has not much love here. I do find Sublime's price much better than UltraEdit.

I think a lot of developers on macosx were using Textmate before they switched to Sublime Text
