Gmail can be used from any modern platform through the web and has dedicated Android and iOS apps too.
Gmail uses stupid amounts of memory, and the web version on iOS is so terrible it's got to be deliberate. Thundermail is a great idea! I'd be more than happy to switch over assuming the migration path from say Gmail, Fastmail, etc was easy enough, and it supported custom domains.

You could convince me to switch from gmail but I'm not sure I would switch from Proton to thundermail.
Protonmail = privacy at all costs.
Thundermail = freedom at all costs (open standards, use w/ whatever client you want, upload your own encryption key and "go dark")

It is not my domain, but I was quite surprised at the 10% processing fee expense. That’s ~$1M at their ~$10 income. Isn’t that quite a bit high? Or am I looking at something incorrectly. Maybe someone has some suggestions for them on how to lower that amount.
https://blog.thunderbird.net/2025/10/state-of-the-bird-2024-... says that the average monthly gift is $6.25. Somebody else gave figures of 3% of the amount and .30 per transaction, which is common for credit card processing.
$6.25 * 97% =$6.06 - $.30 =$5.76 That's $.49 in processing fees and .49/6.25=0.0784 So 8% rather than 10%.
I assume donations other than monthly are more like $15 or $25 but maybe there are people who do $5 or $3 or even $1.
Add in chargebacks, etc. and 10% unfortunately seems reasonable.
I do wish there was a way to pay companies that was less expensive for them but very little friction on my end. Venmo business is 1.9% + $.10 and that's better than I was expecting but still higher than ideal. I've encountered that once. Zelle depends on the business's bank and I've never encountered it as an alternative to credit cards.

I assume if I upload my own key, the receiver of the emails needs to also have my key? I'm not necessarily trying to send encrypted emails to people. I would want zero-access encryption which means not even Thundermail knows what my emails are.

Since most of the people here who seem wary about how their donation is getting spent, I have a feeling that "mostly on devs" probably won't cut it for them, though I assume it's true. Have you considered doing any sort of year end cost reporting where you show percentages of what money went where? If it's going where you say it is I think making that information transparent would be a free win. (I know there would be some level of effort constructing the report but I also have to assume you already have reports like this internally)

I've been trying to use Exchange support at work but there's an ongoing problem that the OAuth login screen can't display PIN prompts for things like Yubikeys.
So I'd love to use the feature, but modern corporate auth defeats it currently.
