Next to no-one has been charged since Epstein was arrested by the US and they memory-holed his files until a few months ago. There weren't anything to base an investigation on until very recently.

Looks like he's referring to Harry S. Truman. Probably doesn't know who Thompson was. I'll never forget Thompson speaking at my school as the war in Vietnam was drawing to a close. He did not mince words.

Thompson: The man who invented gonzo journalism, writing beginning in the 1950s for numerous publications but most notably Rolling Stone, best known for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, serialised in RS, published as a book, and the basis of two films, Where the Buffalo Roam (loose adaptation, 1980) and more faithfully in 1998 under the original name, starring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro.

If he keeps surrounding himself with sketchy people, people will look at him as a sketchy person. It’s not because he’s Sam Altman; it’s because of the people he surrounds himself with—and the things he says and does, of course.

He's not THAT sketchy, he's really just a typical tech CEO. No one gives him credit for what he did

They say they hold fascistic views publicly, they praise fascists in other countries, current or deceased, and they are enacting fascistic policies all over, why would I consider that?

The guy founded two AI companies and exited one, is a researcher who is an expert on how actual human babies learns things and who has done research comparing how LLMs learn and represent language compared to humans. How much more expertise does he need to have an opinion?
