Your concept of designed is very different from mine. The iPad is capable of providing a shell interface, but it is clearly not designed to. It is designed to provide a secure media consumption experience. There is nothing arbitrary (from a mass consumer security perspective) about not providing a shell. Providing a shell makes it much easier for bad actors to dupe unsophisticated users.

?? I've been using an iPad with folio keyboard for close to a decade and first party apps have always had fantastic support. Even third party is usually pretty good. I don't think the author here has any idea what they're talking about.

I think you've failed to substantiate why the laptop is an acceptable form factor, given that there are more flexible options that have none of the downsides.

Dude the keyboard case with trackpad… they should let you put macOS on it. The ipad is worthless with iOS.

Its still not the right height, if there are better options. They don't because they don't take a 30% cut of everything purchased on your MacBook.

I'm guessing that you meant "iPad" not MacBook, and you are referring to purchase of apps from the App Store, not online shopping?
